Pawsitive Puppy Classes

Locations and Spaces

Our aim is to create a safe, comfortable and positive space where you and your puppy can learn and be sucessful.

Our spaces are able to be disinfected before and after each class using veterinary grade disinfectants and vaccinations are required to be proven prior to class starting and as the course continues.

Qualified trainers

Our puppy class trainers (Anne and Nicola) are qualified dog trainers, adding to this have years of experience and continuing education. We have made learning about puppy development and training our careers.

Our Curriculum

The skills taught in our classes are quite extensive. Our week 1 lesson outlines how dogs learn, canine body language and foundation skills, then subsequent weeks cover more foundation skills emphasising teaching calm, building confidence, body awareness and positive associations.

We cover the latest in puppy development and socialisation, plus address common puppy behaviours such as mouthing, toilet training and chewing.

We introduce cooperative care skills and choice for husbandry such as brushing/grooming and nail clipping, plus build confidence being handled and checked for vet visits.

After each class you will get extensive notes, including homework sheets and video links so you can continue practicing and learning at home.

Socialisation and Puppy Play

Of course, everyone wants their puppy to play with other puppies in class, and we do allow time for this. However, it’s important to note that not all puppies want to play with others, or it might not be appropriate to.

Our trainers recognise that all puppies are individuals with different confidence levels and temperaments. We allow puppies to observe without being forced to interact, and we will gently interrupt any rough or over the top behaviour from more confident puppies. We work with you and your puppy so that you get the best out of class.
